A Chance Encounter in the Woods

I received a small grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to make this short animation. it took about one year to make. I made it at my home studio, with no assistants, except for the final compositing [many thanks to my dear friend Malcolm Sutherland] and the sound foley and mix, by Kandis Frieson. The soundtrack is by Paper Boots, a trio band formed by my at-the-time-husband Leon Lo, myself and our mutual friend Antoine Lafontaine, while living in Tokyo, Japan in 2005.  'A Chance Encounter in the Woods' was shown at the Canadian Pavillion at The Shanghai World Expo of 2010.

Ropeway

In November 2005, my ex-husband Leon and I spent one week in Matsuyama, Ehime, hometown of our old friend Teruki Tamayanagi. Among the sightseeing destinations was an old castle at the top of a mountain in the middle of the city. An archaic rope-way takes single passengers up and down. Original music composed and performed by Leon Lo, Antoine Lafontaine and myself: the Paper Boots

Teruki Fireworks

During my one-year stay in Tokyo, i went to one of its' many summer fireworks festivals. In this film, I experiment with the fire-works footage edited to my friend Teruki Tamayanagi's musical compositions.
